So true in most cases, but for the Deacon Bob Racicot Open, the charity golf tournament that benefits The Nest Domestic Violence Shelter, you’ll need more than love or even luck. Golf clubs and your favorite hat just won’t cut it.
First off, make sure you get registered early! Why? Because only the first 144 golfers will get the chance to play the beautiful Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course in this third annual shotgun start tournament, and the field usually fills up well before the tournament date (which is Saturday, August 18th this year).Second…. Don’t pig out at lunch on August 18th! Why? Because a scrumptious Bar B Q dinner is included in your entry fee and will be served at the close of the tournament during the awards ceremony.Third…. Only fools rely on luck, especially when there is no limit on the number of Mulligans you can buy! Proceeds from the Mulligan sales go directly to benefit the woman and children in need of safety at The Nest, so bring some extra cash (or “plastic”) and buy a little “insurance”, ‘cause even great golfers need a do-over once in awhile.
Fourth … Plan ahead. Why? Because there will be a wonderful array of Silent Auction items to please avid golfers and the people they love. Everything from a “suitcase” for your clubs when you travel, to rounds of golf at exclusive country club courses, to gift certificates for dinners, to singing golf bags, to decorator golf bag phones, to beautiful jewelry for that special someone!
Finally, Come out and enjoy the cool pines of Ruidoso! Why? Because summer is about over, you deserve it, and it’s for a great cause!
