Kevin began helping at the shelter by volunteering to do yard work such as weed eating and tree trimming. That work evolved into fixing broken items, transferring the shelter’s considerable recyclables to the recycle plant and moving heavy items.

Tickets Go On Sale for Deacon Bob Open Charity Golf Tournament
Help End Abuse for Life (HEAL) has announced the date of its most talked about annual fundraiser, the Deacon Bob Open. Proceeds from four-golfer scramble benefit The Nest, Lincoln County’s first and only domestic violence shelter. On Saturday, August 6th at 1:00 p.m., golfers will tee off for an afternoon of fun at the Inn of the Mountain Gods’ championship course, followed by a BBQ dinner and awards ceremony.
