Local running enthusiastic Frederic Moras recently stopped by the Nest with a large box of bananas left over from the annual race, Ski Run Road Challenge. The Challenge, which is sanctioned by USA Track & Field, is a fundraiser for the Ski Apache Disabled Skier Program, consists of a mountain climb of 2600 feet in 9.5 miles with a downhill finish at Ski Apache Plaza. The residents of the Nest made mountains of fresh, homemade banana bread, the smell of which quaffed through the shelter for hours.
