Community member and nutrition guru, Angie Fernandez, is bringing her culinary skills to the Nest to educate our women and kids about healthy food choices. Once a week, Angie meets with the women to discuss nutrition and the benefits it has for our bodies and minds. Then, the group prepares a meal together based on her guidance.
Angie teaches her program based on the “Healthy Food Pyramid” that is also used by the Harvard School of Public Health. She expresses the importance of incorporating uncooked and unprocessed food into one’s lifestyle for maximum nutritional benefit and also focuses on the advantages of plant based proteins. The series of classes will include meal preparations for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and easy to make healthy snacks.
