The Deacon Bob Racicot Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Inn of the Mountain Gods.
Racicot and HEAL executive director Coleen Widell came up with the idea of a charity tournament while playing golf together, but it took several years of enthusiastic planning by the pair to make it a reality. This is the third year of the tournament.
“The reason we started this (tournament) was to raise funds for HEAL, not just to play golf,” Deacon Racicot says with a smile. “We had talked about it for years, especially looking at the expected (budget) cuts. Organizing a tournament was one way we could raise money and help keep the shelter running.”
