An annual tradition for HEAL is to take small gifts to legislators to remind them of Lincoln County during their work at the New Mexico Legislature. Last year, staff presented gift bags containing HEAL coffee cups and writing instruments and were thrilled to see Senator Phil Griego sipping coffee from his during their visit! This year, thanks to the generosity of local photographer Sue Hutchison and framer Josie Powell of Josie’s Framery, the legislators received a beautiful framed picture of the partially snow-covered Sierra Blanca Mountain. Even though HEAL took an entourage of legislative advocates in the form of board and staff members, it also took a little slice of our community to remind our elected officials of our beautiful community.
