Project Princess Photo Shoot

This past spring, the community donated gorgeous dresses for Sweet Charity’s Project Princess Prom Dress Drive. The goal of Project Princess was to ensure that every girl who needed a dress to go to prom could receive one.

Over 30 girls selected their dresses from Sweet Charity, where the dresses were offered on a “pay what you can” price system. The remaining dresses will be saved for next year’s prom season. To properly thank the community and show off some of the fabulous remaining dresses, Coleen came up with the zany idea that the Sweet Charity Ball planning committee should get dressed up and have a photo shoot.

Helene with OHK Photography volunteered her time and services as our creative director and expert photographer. She didn’t miss a beat in capturing all of our silliness as we attempted modeling 101. (If you see us on the cover of Vogue…I’d be surprised!)

If you’re wondering about the beautiful backdrop, you can visit it firsthand by stopping in at The Sanctuary on the River off of Eagle Dr. We were shooting on the deck where there is a lovely view along the river.

You’ll be seeing more of us in evening wear in the near future due to Sweet Charity’s latest endeavor: The Sweet Charity Ball. The Sweet Charity Ball is going to be an exquisite evening of dining and dancing in celebration of our hope for all survivors of domestic violence. Tickets will go on sale in July, but if you’d like more info, please see the event page on this website or email sweetcharityball@hotmail.com. All proceeds from the Sweet Charity Ball will benefit the Nest Domestic Violence Shelter.
